Ammonite Shell Silhouette... WIP (Work In Progress)
I'm just beginning to put the pieces of the Ammonite Shell Silhouette into place. I am using a clear plastic or acetate sheet to help with placement. I was thinking of using gold thread when I free motion quilt this..hmmm. Stay tuned for this will be made into Silhouette pattern #7!
FYI: Ammonites are believed to be the most widely known fossil and it is typically in this spiral form shell. They lived over 65 million years ago and became extinct along with the dinosaurs. They belong to a group known as cephalopods such as octopus, squid and cuttlefish, etc. Many people use these fossils to make beautiful jewelry among other lovely things.
